WHERE LAND MEETS SEA - BOUNDARY EXTENSION

Picture
Self hardening clay, graphite, wood, pins, paint
The island has a boundary of approximately 100 miles of coastline that is constantly being shifted and changed by the sea and weather. Approximately 80 thin A6 (sketch book) sheets of self-hardening clay have been graphited and burnished. Drawing into the surface, the representation of the coast from a scaled map has been expanded and reinvented. Some coastlines are fact whilst others are fiction. Some boundaries and changes we have no control over (particularly true this year) and some we construct ourselves.
