Celine Appleyard

Celine is a ceramicist. She graduated from the University
of Wolverhampton in 2004 with a First Class Honours
Degree in Ceramic design. She also received the
Craftline Award for technical achievement in hand
building in porcelain. Inspired by nature, the sea and
her training in textiles, Celine’s work has been described
as, “Clay metamorphosing into fabric, effective, original,
beautiful”.
Her work is innovative and skilfully hand built in
porcelain and stoneware. She particularly loves
porcelain for its translucent qualities creating bespoke
mood lights. Celine produces a wide range of products,
both decorative and functional, including her Manx cats
for The Manx National Heritage shops.
Celine is currently Artist in Residence at The Engine
House, Castletown. She welcomes bespoke commissions.
