Debra is a multidisciplinary community artist who works with all ages and abilities. Although mosaic work has been the preferred medium for many groups and schools as it is such an inclusive art form, she has also facilitated a number of other community projects using glass fusing, puppet making, eco-art, folk art and painting.
Her private mosaic commissions have included pet portraits of dogs, a 2' x 4' abstract garden mural and a mosaic for a Cheshire folly with a crown for the town's Mayor.
Debra’s own work, on the surface, may seem disparate: glass fusing and encaustic art but both disciplines use heat as their creative force. Debra loves the way that she can manipulate either the glass or wax with heat to produce exciting work. Recently she has been experimenting with combining glass and wax together in the same piece, with some very interesting results.
Debra offers private workshops at her studio at Grenaby which can hold a maximum of 3 in the studio or 6 in the pod on site. Details of workshops can be found on her website
