Jo is primarily a potter who also likes to play with papier mache and felting. She now works from her beautiful ancient studio in Ballabeg at Grenaby Studios. Most of her work is humorous, whether human, animal or landscape with a cartoon quality and often on a very large scale.
Jo has recently moved to the very beautiful Isle of Man and is inspired by its magnificent scenery and wonderfully quirky character. Much of Jo's work is increasingly based on scenes of the Island.
Jo loves the painterly aspects of clay and often uses it as a canvas, incorporating screen printing, use of transfers and decorative finishing techniques. She usually works in stoneware clay or porcelain and loves to experiment using oxides, underglazes, lustres and many additional techniques.
