Laura Espinosa Moon
Laura is an illustrator, painting workshop facilitator, and popular local mural artist. Originally from the Isle of Man, Laura left to attend the Surrey Institute of Art and Design, after which she spent many years living in London and Brighton. On returning in 2008, Laura felt compelled to create the enchanting children’s picture book, ‘You can be’. With its sumptuous, undulating images, rich colour and symbolism, her distinctive style was born. In 2016 Laura illustrated two further books, and completed a new body of personal work, inspired by the earthy rugged scenery, focusing on trees as an iconic symbol of celtic culture. A spiritual message flows through her work, with titles such as ‘Reaching’ and ‘The Way’. Laura is currently painting the Manx hills and coastline, her favourite place to wander. She feels the landscape seeps into consciousness over time, and expresses this through the moody beauty of her images. |
