Pat Kelly Pat is a mixed media textile artist. She lives on a farm with a forest garden on one of the fields, where the plants, birds and insects provide constant inspiration. Recently, Pat has been working with fellow textile artist, Maureen Kennaugh, to create a body of work for an exhibition called, “Florence”, to be held at the Hodgson Loom Gallery. Unfortunately, Covid has delayed this exhibition but preparations for it have inspired experimentation with fusible fabrics and felt. Painting the felt with pure pigment powders and then using a heat gun and a fine tipped soldering iron to produce a heavily textured surface, is a new technique in Pat’s work. Pat is now concentrating on making artworks inspired by nature. She is using a Wacom One tablet on which to paint and draw images that can be digitally altered, providing her with a means to convey her personal viewpoint with a modern twist. patktextiles.blogspot.com |
