Sarah Devereau
Sarah is a painter and printmaker who studied at the Slade School of Fine Art where she learned the importance of observation and knowledge of materials. After leaving the Slade she trained as an Art Teacher and spent many years teaching in Hertfordshire. Sarah’s subjects represent a challenge in terms of balancing the planes, the spaces and the light. Colour and light, shape and form catch her attention; a small detail, one colour against another or the contrast of light and shadow. In the Isle of Man she finds rhythms and contours in the landscape that are emphasized at different times of the day or year, along with farms and groups of buildings that go unnoticed until the sun catches them. |
